Thanks to an outpouring of community support, we will soon double our capacity to serve Tarrant and surrounding counties. Our new, 83,000 square foot building will combine three existing Catholic Charities locations, making our organization more accessible and able to provide a greater depth of services to the community.
Over 200 donors contributed to our Building Hope campaign, including corporate sponsors such as Lockheed Martin, Hillwood; Frost Bank; Chesapeake Energy; XTO Energy; Thompson, Harveson, and Cole; Bell Helicopter, Wells Fargo; and TXU Energy. The campaign also benefited from the generosity of local foundations and philanthropists including the Fischer family of Fort Worth, the Amon G. Carter Foundation and the Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In addition to the one million dollars to endow the new building, the Fort Worth Catholic Diocese generously donated four acres of land in southeast Fort Worth where the building will be located, and Catholic Charities staff members contributed over 20,000 to the campaign.
"We truly will be Building Hope in this community," says Catholic Charities CEO Heather Reynolds. "Hope for families in need, hope for children who are victims of violence or neglect, hope for the elderly, and hope for political refugees and immigrants. Because this community said yes when we asked for help - Catholic Charities will be able to answer the cries of those who need us most."
The new Catholic Charities' facility was designed by the architectural firm of Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford. The construction company chosen for the project is Steele & Freeman of Fort Worth.
Catholic Charities' new facility will be sited at 249 West Thornhill Drive in Fort Worth, across from La Gran Plaza & the Town Center shopping center, the move-in date is scheduled for March 25 & 26, 2010.
