What does Catholic Charities do?
Catholic Charities serves the 28 counties in the Diocese of Fort Worth. We provide services to individuals, families and children among us in need as we advocate compassion and justice in our community. Catholic Charities is rooted in the principles, values and traditions of the Catholic Church and Catholic Social Teaching.
Do you have to be Catholic to receive services from Catholic Charities?
No. At Catholic Charities, we serve people because of our faith not theirs. Our faith calls us to serve others, regardless of their personal faith traditions.
Do you have to be Catholic to work for Catholic Charities?
No. Our staff reports over 20 religious affiliations other than Catholicism. We are a family at Catholic Charities, each member committed to our core values and strengthening our community.

What programs do you offer?

How is Catholic Charities related to the Diocese of Fort Worth?
Catholic Charities is the social justice arm of the church and is structured as a separate 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation. Each year, Catholic Charities receives funding from the Sharing in Ministry annual appeal conducted by the Diocese.
Is Catholic Charities part of a national organization?
Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth, Inc. is a member and affiliate organization of Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), one of the largest private networks of social service providers in the country. Each affiliate organization operates under its own mission statement and provides programs and services to response to the specific needs in its community.

How is your funding used?
In 2006, our operating budget was $10.9 million. Over 90% of our funding is allocated to the agency’s five main program areas: Children’s Services, Family Services, Health Services, Refugee and Immigration Services, and Housing for the elderly and disabled.
